Grading Policy

92 - 100            = A     
83 -   91            = B
74 -   73            = C
69 - and below = F

  • Students must pass six of seven courses, including both English and math, in order to be promoted from 7th to 8th grades and/or from 8th to 9th grades respectively.  This requirement may be satisfied during Summer School.
  • If a student fails either English or math, he/she must pass that course in Summer School.
  • If a student fails two courses, he/she must take one of the courses in Summer School, although taking both is recommended.  The school reserves the right to select  the course(s) to be repeated and the courses to be taken in Summer School to satisfy the requirement.
  • If a student fails three courses, two MUST  be taken in Summer School.  The school reserves the right to select  the course(s) to be repeated and the courses to be taken in Summer School to satisfy the requirement.
  • If a student fails three and a half or more courses, retention, without the option of Summer School, is recommended.
  • The Principal reserves the right to the final decision in cases of extenuating circumstances.
