Sam Antona Sam Antona

12th Grade Sam is not your typical athlete. She will not be a starter and may not get much playing time at all. That would deter most athletes from even continuing in a sport. On most teams she might even have been cut. That however couldn’t be farther from the truth for Sam. She knows she will have minimal playing time in yet she is a true leader, team cheerleader, mentor to underclassmen, helpful to all of the coaches and last but not least…one f the nicest young ladies I have ever come across in my teaching and coaching career. She is a testament to what an athlete should be. She has been my right hand over these past 2 weeks as we get ready to start our season helping in any way possible and working her heart out on and off the field. She’s not the fastest girl on the team and doesn’t have the best stats and will probably never see her name in the paper but she is truly deserving of this honor.
