Mission Statement
The Southern Regional experience, a community partnership, will assure our students challenging learning opportunities that are shaped by the New Jersey Student Learning Standards in order for them to become contributing members of society.

Belief Statements
We believe that:
- All students possess unique talents and will be challenged and successful.
- All students will feel comfortable in a safe, nurturing environment that is established through mutual respect, acceptance and a sense that everything is valued by all involved.
- Every student should have physical and emotional security in an environment that stimulates learning and recognizes each individual’s self worth.
- Motivation is an essential element of learning.
- Everyone wants to be, and can be, productive.
- A good education provides a foundation for a productive, well-rounded contributing member of our community and is the shared responsibility of parents, school and the community.
- The role of the community is to be informed and to provide facilities, materials and personnel in a spirit of cooperation.
- The school should provide comprehensive curricula which offer students diversity of choice in an environment which stimulates learning and growth.
- The district has the responsibility to be a good steward of the financial resources provided by the community.
Goals
Revenue/Funding/Finance
To effectively manage financial resources while exploring all funding opportunities in order to maintain and expand the quality of the Southern Regional experience.
Education/Student Achievement/Curriculum
To provide all individuals with the resources and comprehensive programs that would challenge each to achieve personal excellence.
Community/Communications/Collaboration
To provide reciprocal communication with the community and utilize school and community resources to collaborate on joint learning ventures.
Goals and Strategies
1. Revenue/Funding/Finance
To effectively manage financial resources while exploring all funding opportunities in order to maintain and expand the quality of the Southern Regional experience.

To establish a Southern Regional foundation by 2008 to bring in additional funds to the district.
- 1.2 To facilitate being able to receive grant monies from a variety of sources by 2008.
- 1.5 Annually use creative methods to generate revenue by including the use of Southern’s facilities.
2. Education/Student Achievement/Curriculum
To provide all individuals with the resources and comprehensive programs that would challenge each to achieve personal excellence.

Expand staff development opportunities.
- 2.2 Publish an annual curricular review to determine the relevance of course content.
- 2.3 Adapt curriculum to ensure the inclusion of life application focus.
- 2.4 Establish an internship program in the year 2008-2009 that will service both community and student needs.
- 2.5 Develop a partnership with sending districts and area private schools to ensure a commitment to an alignment of a K-12 curriculum.
3. Community/Communications/Collaboration
To provide reciprocal communication with the community and utilize school and community resources to collaborate on joint learning ventures.

- 3.1 By the conclusion of the 2008-2009 academic year, diversify interactive programming for the students and community utilizing various forms of media.
- 3.2 Develop and enhance an SNN programming guide (ESL, community outreach, academic).
- 3.3 Extend and expand multi-media education to include the Southern Regional middle school.
- 3.4 Establish a multi-media extracurricular club (alumni success stories, which will serve to mentor, motivate and promote).
- 3.5 To develop an overall marketing and communication plan for ongoing community outreach and information sharing.
- 3.6 Annually expand the efforts of the alumni association to include activities and events for fundraising opportunities as well as for supporting the budget (originally 1.3).
- 3.7 Further educate the community-at-large concerning the school budgeting process annually (originally 1.4).
