Skills For Life

The Skills for Life curriculum is geared to engage students in the development of the personal skills for the 21st century.  Students will attain life and workplace readiness skills while learning about the fundamentals of  babysitting, kitchen safety skills and sanitation, preparing a healthy variety of foods and basic craft and sewing techniques.

Through these units, students learn how to prepare healthy snacks, simple meals and tempting desserts around holiday settings.  Students also create crafts that can be used as gifts for special occasions or for a friend.  This course also teaches the personal relationship skills needed when interacting with people of all ages- children to adult.  One of the relevant components of Life Skills is a babysitting unit that provides students the background they need in caring for young children.
